The process of activated carbon catalytic combustion
Author:
The activated carbon (mostly honeycomb carbon or fiber carbon) is applied to adsorb and concentrate the organic waste gas in low concentration. After the adsorption is close to saturation, hot air is introduced to heat the activated carbon so that the organic waste gas can be desorbed and enter the catalytic combustion bed for flameless combustion and purification treatment with the help of catalyst, and the hot gas is recycled in the system or a secondary heat exchanger is added for heat energy recovery. The method concentrates the organic waste gas in low concentration into high concentration by activated carbon and then purifies it completely by catalytic combustion. This method absorbs the advantages of adsorption and catalytic combustion methods, overcomes the shortcomings of each separately, and solves the problems of treating low concentration and large air volume organic waste gas, which is a mature and practical method for treating organic waste gas in China. Because the desorption process of activated carbon is within a specific adsorption cycle, there is no need to frequently start or preheat the catalytic furnace, depending on the concentration of desorption there will be part of the thermal balance of the catalytic furnace, especially for intermittent operations (non-24-hour continuous operation) of the coating conditions, compared to zeolite rotor or RTO and other processes, energy-saving effect is obvious, the investment in equipment is not large, is more mainstream treatment process.
